There once was a ship sailed in all kind of fogs (Tug ,pull and heave on that rope) Crew of old rascals and salty old dogs (what wouldn't i give for a crate load of dope) The winds blew up, the crew sailing blind Oh blow, my bully boys, blow! It was eons ago when the sea was so blue (Stop yer slacking you sonova bitch) Pull and be damned, never saw such a crew (heave on that riggin, end up in a ditch) The ship she was droving, o wot will she find? Blow, my bully boys, blow! World war 2 vets on a sea not for pleasure (ropes is a gaping and ropes is a tweaking) Ship is a hoover for all sorts of treasure (its cold and it's raining and everything's reaking) Vacuuming up what the war left behind Blow my bully boys blow! Vacuuming up what the war left behind Blow, my bully boys, blow.

A myth that puts off kids from visiting Haimdular...(excuse spelling).. All best urban legends are vaguely based on a fact, which gives them credibility. The legend goes that a series of tunnels run beneath Haimdular and the tunnels lead to a series of dungeons. The dungeons are not used now but used to be where prisoners could be kept and where it was impossible to escape from. Many years ago a number of corpses turned up in the sea and around the same time it was rumoured that a very tall, thin, hooded man would roam the streets. He was known as The Emaciated because of his starved appearance...but it wasnt the starved look of the man that sparked the legend but the beast that he would pull behind him on a leash that was said to look like a very panther like cat but with huge claws like an eagle. The legend has it that unwary visitors to Haimdalur awaken the Spectre if they make a certain sound over the hidden tunnels...no one is sure what sound it is but it grates on the ears of the beast and he wakes hungry. The stranger or strangers are hunted down and led to the dungeons where the Spectre feeds his beast with human entrails extracted from humans while still alive..the corpses are thrown in the sea. There is a faded, rather blurry photo of the beast in the Haimdular museum taken 20 yrs ago, with other recent sightings recorded. 12 corpses have been found in the sea, disembowelled. Scientific explanation is that a very vague rumour once circulated that prisoners who were executed were whisked away to an underground place to have experiments carried out on them and this urban legend developed around that. The rumour was squashed as ridiculous but the legend lives on.

I have had this story in my head for quite some time. - It's pretty dark -they say you should choose a person as an audience, and write the book to them. I choose myself, at age 14. The year after I read "A Clockwork Orange" which had a BIG, but very negative impact on me -they say you need a beginning, a middle, and an end. I have a beginning and an end. I think those are the hard ones. -it's about a kid, no family, no friends, raised in the "foster care" system being kicked out on to the streets with no supports as he turns 18. And an old man, who may be a Taoist monk, or may be a delusional coot, no family, no friends, being pulled into the "long term care" system against his will. -they become unlikely friends, and try to help each other make a life for themselves as the system throws obstacles in their way

He is gone into the far lands I cannot reach him there I fumble for the words to warn him Take care, dear friend, take care I know his spirit runs free No caged bird, he Nor would he thrive On nine to five In office walls that prison bars would be. For him the forest sounds The running brook The sky as wide as heaven And stars that watch at night For him the unexpected turn That takes a road less travelled by Where nothing stirs except the breeze And the bright, wild, untamed birds take flight.

Heimdalür (commonly called Heim-dollar) is a small city of about 200,000 on the annexed french island of Miquelon. It is in essence a "pirate" city. No passport or visa is required to visit, and no social services of any kind exist. Nothing is illegal, no one is barred from entry, and many global crime syndicates operate here. Gambling, blood sports, perversion, drugs, experimental surgeries are all the norm. Ölgard does maintain a type of order here, quite heavy handed order, as no rights are recognized on the island and if you make trouble for the police, you'll probably just disappear... https://www.google.com/maps/place/St+Pierre+and+Miquelon/@46.5502267,-56.9056566,6.85z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x4b6c4b4bfb0e57d1:0x9c716737ea6c5c11!8m2!3d46.8852!4d-56.3159

I'm getting pretty settled now. I don't have Internet access at what's to be "home" (or electricity, or running water) but there is an old mac at the post office, the lodge that has offered me work has a satellite link, so their guests can have wi-fi, that they will power up in june so I plan on being around a bit. chatting with hamsters, slandering the religious, skewering the political... you know, same old, same old how have you been? I've kinda lost track of time, the past is all a bit jumbled at the moment

I just thought we could post anything here that could be used as inspiration, or reference material for Gods of Thunder.
