Portals Chess

Regular chess except there are portals.

If a piece goes on a portal, they teleport to the other portal. Pieces can travel through portals. Kings cannot use the portal if it is in check when it teleports to the other portal

So when a piece occupies a portal, does it get teleported back and forth each turn, or is the portal one time use for each piece (unless it moves off)? The former would be pretty fun

I think: as soon as a piece enters a portal, it gets teleported to the other.

i have an idea:

once a portal is used it moves to two new random squares

Also would be cool if before the player makes their move, they can move the portal 1 square to the side (and the other part of the portal would move diagonally-symmetrically with it).
