Potential workaround when voice extension not working (?)

There are problems sometimes with the voice extension.

There are general problems, it seems. For this, I know no solution. But I found that the voice extension sometimes works before the game, but it does not work when I start the game.

The following workaround sometimes did the trick, so I wanted to share it to put to the test.

Before starting a game, I check that the voice extension works

1. Under Today / Playing Now, opening a game playing now
2. Only proceeding if the voice extension work

Then

1. Starting the game
2. When the voice extension does not work
3. Reloading the page does not work (attention looks like in some cases this aborts the game)
4. Under Today / Playing Now, click on a game playing now (not guaranteed to work, maybe game aborts)
5. Game opens in a new tab
6. The voice extension works again

I found the voice extension to be working but did not use it for like two months. Now I tried a few times in the last few days, did not work.

I tried extensively today on different computers, reinstalling chrome, different network connections, everything, not one move announced.

The extension is essential to play with the DGT board on chess.com but is not reliable. Can somebody tell their experience if it is working?

I would also like to know if someone with responsibility is reading this forum? If so, please present yourselves and speak up about how such an inconvenience is possible. Or is this forum "only" for users to mutually complain and the complaints are not noticed?

Also though playing without voice extension is pointless, it does not pick up the moves reliably. Sometimes the moves are picked up, sometimes not. Then when I move the piece extremely slow, it works. A new type of chess! A piece can only be moved a square! No, sorry, this is no fun.
