I’ve been trying to go for almost a year, but every trip in has been at the end of a quarter, and my job is slammed each of those months, so I could not get free. I’ve made the meeting, got the time off, now I’m trying to get the preliminary stuff done. Before we go in, one of the things they ask us to do is ask for prayer. They give us these little slips of paper on which people promise to pray at specific times while we are there, covering the whole event in prayer. They turn those prayer promises into a chain by making them loops connecting them. They wrap them around the room, and so many are promised that the loops can circle the room several times, and the prisoners get a glimpse of how many people they do not know who are praying for them. I’ve been told it is one of the more powerful things there; some have even looked at the loops and saw names of people they know, which has brought these guys in that dark place to tears.
Prayer Requests from/for our Members
The church in the prison, I mean the saved prisoners, is quite large. Our goal is to support them so they look to the Lord in prison, not us.
You might point out John ch 6 v 29, c 20 v 30-31 and Isaiah ch 1v 18. These might help them in their journey with the Lord per your #224 comment.
We really need to be praying for our country!

This has been quite the last week or two with my first trip into Hughes prison with Kairoes and Friday going to work driving ~60-65 mph a truck hits me in a crowed interstate. Neither of us were hurt, his truck didn’t look like anything happen to it. It was dark so who knows, my car you could tell. Thank God no other cars/trucks got caught up in it. There was a lot of traffic
