In real life terms French Battleships are pathetically useless. In world of warships terms, French Battleships with the exception of a few are pathetically useless.

no actually they won't, the french has the single worst battle record of both WWI and WWII. They did nothing in both, and tbh their battleship construction and armament layout is highly questionable.

Well WW2 doesn't really count because many ships didn't see service

In-game terms, the Alsace, Bourgeon, Lyon, and a few others are good. The rest are a bit of a tùrd, especially ones like Picardie.

If they were paratidly useless why did the British try to sink Richelieu in fear that it would into German hands after the French army lost in the battle of France? You can’t call a ship useless when it did not get the action it deserve to get because of circumstances, kinda like Yamato she was meant to be built as the strongest battleship but at the wrong time and era where carriers had taken over and it was just a waste of steel and oil especially what the Japanese did with operation ten-go
