Proposing Random Events For City Revolution

Add suggestions for random events here, and discuss what ones are suggested.

Once we get to at least 20, I will implement it in CR as planned here.

Events:

  • Earthquake: A random 3 x 3 region of the map (determined through a random letter and number picker (picking from A-H and 1-7)) is isolated due to an earthquake. For 2 weeks, there can be no campaigns through the border of this region. The border will be marked by a cyan square.
  • Trojan Horse: Communications channels were hacked, resulting in 4 random battles

Flood:

I can only do a MD when there are a lot of open squares. Also, it wouldn’t be a new event, those already exist. This is for new events to be randomly determined every 3rd Friday.

Enemy invasion: Randomly selected clubs have to play against a 2000 rated engine (votechess).

One club will attack another random club (If they are able) and start a battle.

Seems interesting (but maybe lower the rating). But what would happen if they lost?

I myself think it should 3 clubs, not 1, to make it more interesting.

I'm just gonna shove the ideas I used before here lol

EARTHQUAKE! some part of the map is seperated from the others and cannot be attacked across the seperation point

HURRICANE! since the lower parts are flooded everyone is on rooftops and thus can all see eachother and things making 1v1 daily match battles impossible and only live (or maybe vc?) battles possible

TROJAN HORSE! somebody hacked all the communication channels of the rebels. matches are now made aginst random people

Trojan Horse does seem similar to Accidental Fire tbh (and Earthquake is similar to Flood), but good ideas.

You did them first, I suggest adding the details I stated to those 2 (I’m thinking 5 random battles per Trojan Horse now, and the separated region is 3x3 and lasts for 2 weeks), and I will come up with a new idea for Flood.

Also, I’m not really sure about Hurricane, it nullifies the point of the Districts.

seems cool. and yeah I guess hurricane would mess up the whole district thing.

I have a few ideas too!

  1. Boosting @lukegk's idea: The AI Invasion: at some borders of the map random AI' spawn and want to take the closest square. The club on that square has to play that engine in a vote chess game. This can be done for example if someone creates a club where is only one member (he/she the owner), and that people uses the selected engine ONLY in that vote chess games. For example if chess.com's 2000 rated engine spawns alongst a square it attacks that one. And the player who agrees to play with the engines, when it's the engine's turn it gives the engine the position to play against and the first move the engine plays it would be played in the game. If the engine loses it will disappear from the map. If the club loses, they will lose that square and the engine gets that one. If it's a draw the engine won't disappear, but it won't take the square. It will go to another square on the border. Note: The engine's rating cannot be higher then 2500/2200, because else the engines would take over the world. This is just a suggestion.
  2. The Broken Friendship: All unions and allies have disappeared, everyone fights for itself. No O attacks are possible. The borders of the map are closed, no one can rejoin the map if they disappear. The last club standing wins the league. This could be the end of City Revolution and then we can start Space Wars. Note: this is only possible if we want to end CR. If not sorry for wasting your time with this. happy
  3. Explosion: a bomb explodes on a 3x3 region. The explosion hurts some players from the clubs who are in that region and those players cannot play in the next game, it doesn't matter if it's daily, live or vote chess. For example the 1800+ rated players were hurt and they cannot play in the next game. If it is a daily game, and your opponent wasn't on that region where the bomb exploded, you don't have to put a maximum rating. If you will have a few people who were hurt in the team lineup those games will be lost for you. Is it understoodable? I don't know if I explained well.

I might have other ideas soon, but these three came to my mind now.

They lose their square, it becomes empty. Change the rating to 1800?
