Puzzle Rating Bug

So today I did my 5 free daily puzzles and then clicked "next," which, as it sometimes does, allowed me to do a 6th puzzle. However, when I solved that puzzle, it deleted the rating (+6) I'd gained from the last puzzle and replaced it with the rating from this puzzle (+5). I clicked next, and to my surprise, it allowed me to do a 7th puzzle. When I solved that, the bug repeated itself, giving me +7 rating and taking away the +5 I'd gained from the previous puzzle. I took a screenshot so you can see my rating going down even though I got 7 in a row correct.

Also, when I checked, Chess.com didn't even register that I did the two puzzles with the deleted rating.

I show you got 5, 5, 5, 6 and 7 on your last 5 puzzles. Don't see 7 from today, though the last 2 from yesterday are part of your 7 streak.

Correct. I did 7 today, but Chess.com only recognized 5. I don't think it's supposed to give me 7 since I'm not premium, so when I got them somehow, it didn't know what to do and just ignored them.

Wow, you spend a lot of time on your puzzles!

I noticed that on the app the 6th "free" puzzle doesn't actually get counted for rating which is odd. Could it be the same thing here?

I don't know. The weird parts are that the rating got overwritten and that I got a 7th puzzle.

Did it actually get overwritten though in your rating history, or did you just get the popup saying +7? I've seen an issue like this before when playing daily games where the wrong popup will show, but it's just displaying inaccurate information and all the data is correct in the database. I don't do puzzles as often so I haven't seen this before.

RattlesnakeBiscuits: The number of "daily" allowed free puzzles may be affected by the time of day you are doing the puzzles. Your chess.com day is not equal to your time zone day unless you share the computer's time zone

So after I did the 1st puzzle and got to 2555, I opened up stats in a new tab and it said 2549, even though the puzzles page said 2555, so it definitely sounds like your theory is possible. However, the last one -- the 7th -- actually did affect my rating, since, as you can see, I'm now 2556. So I guess I chose my words wrong. The puzzles weren't so much "overwritten" as entirely not recognized by Chess.com. Chess.com just has no idea that I ever did them.

Weird that the first one seems to not have been recognized. I suppose if that's the case where somehow one of the puzzles wasn't recognized to have been completed, then the system would think you haven't hit the daily limit.

Either way, this is good for the chess.com team to know.

OK, so I thought this bug was one-off, but it happened again today. If you look at my puzzle history, Chess.com has no record of me ever doing the puzzle I'm hovering over in this screenshot (the second-to-last one)

RattlesnakeBiscuits : If you are doing the puzzle at a time of day just before or after the end of the chess.com computer's day the puzzle result will be recorded on a day before or after your time-zone date

I am on USCDT. If I start and complete a puzzle between 12 midnight and 2AM it is recorded as having been completed by 11:59PM the day that ended two hours prior.
