Hello Team 54:

It is that time again for some more tactical puzzles to get you thinking! This weeks theme is on double attacks. Try your best and see what you can find. Also, often the puzzles will not end in checkmate. It could just be that one side can gain an advantage. Just a litte tip so that you dont go crazy trying to figure them out.  I hope you enjoy. Good Luck!!

P.S. I added a few more puzzles as well.

Hi fighters

Hi Malachi.

Your puzzles are always good. CONGRATS

In my opinion, the 1st, whites "only" gain a pawn, cause now blacks can move f6 or K f8. In 4th blacks have lots of possibilities now. For instance R x f2, preparing B X b3, or B x b3 directly.

The last one is a master piece

Tolodoxadrez,

First off, Thank You and I am glad you liked them. I think you are right about the first puzzle, but you must remember that White's knight is in danger of being captured, so instead of moving it to a passive square. Going to e7 was the best move. I know that exchaning a knight for a bisohp and a pawn may not seem like a huge advantage to decent everyday players, but masters and grandmasters can definitely use that slight advantage and turn it into a win. Plus the king going to f8 does not allow the rook to take the queen because it would still be mate. f6 may be best, but I would not presume to know the next best line because I am not that strong of a player myself.

Second about puzzle four. I had to look at it and this was the best that I could come up with...

Hello Malachi

Of course you are strong, and that's why I put questions.

In the continuation of this puzzle, what if after Qa8+ blacks just move Kf7

I think it will cause pain. But my move woul be other

I would return with Rf8, whites have to move queen and defend b3, so Qa3 or Qa2, and now I think blacks have Qc6, with lots of possibiliies, one of them Ra8, and, if before you moved Qa3 now you still have game, but if you moved Qa2 now you must close your queen and loose pawn b3. What do you think?

You are most definitley welcome Ilo-Pinci. Can you believe we still have 25 more themes to go in the intermediate series alone!? I am kind of excited about the advanced puzzles yet to come.
