Puzzles Ratings

I decided to create a seperate forum for this so others can easily access it. I want to respect Martin's ratings as well so if he comes back he can of course take back the mantle (:. This forum is only for rating changes I made so they can be considered differently.

I tried to arrange these in chronological order please let me know if I made a mistake. I was almost finished but realized I made an error so I had to start over and didn't focus too much on this part above.

@evert823 - 1347 -> 1327 Calculated from 1 game. A loss against @Marks1420

@Marks1420 - 1583 -> 1603 -> 1512 Calculated from 2 games, with a win against @Evert823 being before a loss against @Puzzles

@Puzzles (Formerly known as @4playerspeed, then known as @Pootzies - 1250 -> 1225 -> 1316 -> 1274 Calculated from 3 games, A loss to @KapitalP_Pro, A victory against @Marks1420 and a loss to @VM_LeaderAbhyudaya

@ComradM 1469 -> 1486 -> 1412 Calculated from the win against @BattleChessGN18 and the Loss to @VM_LeaderAbhyudaya

@VM_LeaderAbhyudaya 1305 -> 1379 -> 1419 Calculated from beating @ComradM and then @Puzzles

@KapitalP_Pro 1200 -> 1257 Calculated from beating @Puzzles

The parts I put after the rating changes are in chronological order for which the games took place.

I guess I'm not really sure why one cannot drop below 1200. I was never made aware of this rule of BullDog rating.

My being currently 1183, as you had calculated, sounded pretty right to me. haha

martin said it was to provide new players with a security that they will always be above the 1200 mark and will never drop below it

so the latest ratings are found in martins post except for these changes?

Maybe we can post the ratings here in the club. I the Variants forum it is seen by too many people for who it is not relevant.

in bulldog chess there is no inactivity penalty right

post 919 of martins ratings (page 46) has me at 1251

next update (post 927, page 47) i was kicked off the list for inactivity

so wouldnt my rating currently be 1251 not 1200 (just using myself as an example, this applies to every player who was inactive)

i decided to calculate the ratings independently

first: ratings as of @Martin0 's last update on december 1 2022(including inactive players)

it was explicitly stated as rated in the first post 

while it was untimed, lower stakes and had many pieces, other similar games have been rated before

if the participants want it to be unrated i would redo the calculation to reflect that

I must have missed your name when I was checking earlier posts, so I gave you a new player rating of 1200... we'll consider it as 1251 from now.

However, I think we'll keep @Puzzles 's rating changes for now because 3 rating moderators would cause much confusion... About the HoneDog game, neither of the players want it to be official, so let's leave it as unrated. We're not lawyers, after all

completely fine with @Puzzles moderating the rating

just noting that 2 games were played in between that weren't accounted for

...and 2 games from random dog were also not accounted for (and another non tournament game)

Hopefully, this can make things easier

Only after previous post I noticed that on 15-07-2025 @Martin0 has published ratings again.
