PVP Tips
I knew THAT.. but the head and legs thing surprised me. So the head has a large hitbox or the legs have a small hitbox? Im assuming it's the former, cause i've hit plenty of people in the knees and they took damage..
so, is the leg hitbox not covering the legs, or the head hitbox covers more than the head? Like i said, i'm assuming it's the head.
Oh thanks. My suspicions were rught the were right then.
But it seems that the head hitbox is smaller than the leg hibox. I'll investigate further myself. Thanks tony.
You can be like:
Wow im low health I'll run!
and he will run behind you. Make sure he follows you.
A)run for a while and then stop surprisly and start hitting him and strafing
And my favorite
B) find a flat surface and place the water behind you so he will get stuck. then you hit him with bow or when he turns his back ( you can go TO his back) refill your bucket and attack him fast
Also a water bucket trick: when you are on a sky bridge you dont need to place the water, wait it to go down and then refill and jump! you can ( with a filled bucket) look down with your cursor ( and I mean DOWN ) and jump like a free fall in creative mode. then with the filled bucket press right click. when you reach the ground the water will be placed, you will land safety and you refill the bucket.
Also you should usually go to hit the part of the body with less or no armor.
It causes more damage.
Use any resources you have. Build an encampment around yourself with dirt, use a fishing rod as a rope dart, parkour on normally unparkourable surfaces using a ladder, etc. Almost anything can be used in combat.

that's actually an inaccurate statement. each armor bar reduces damage by 8%, so if someone has full iron except for leggings (5 armor bars), the damage they take will be reduced by 40% regardless of where u hit them. the same goes for someone who has full leather with iron pants (5 armor bars)

When you are fighting someone I highly recommend strafing (or circling). It makes you harder to hit, and you can adjust your hitbox while avoiding attacks. Also, if you can, try to get the lower ground on your opponent. If you are below him, your hit box is actually closer than his/hers, giving you a better chance to get the first hit. If that happens, walk forward while hitting and you can land 2 or 3 hits for every 1 hit they land. And if you're chasing someone, use a fishing rod! You can pull them back and shorten the distance between you! For more tips I'd need to make another post :/ I've learned a lot from hunger games haha
Yep, strafing is one of the best methods of combat in minecraft. It confuses the opponent, the damage adds to the panic, they freak out, and they die.
Getting the low ground is also good for close quarters combat(in ranged combat, higher ground is better, as it is easier to hit someone from high ground and your bow can shoot farther from high ground). as they move, their legs swing, which adds more targets to hit. And, as it turns out, the hitbox is larger on the bottom of the model then on the top(again, the legs. After all, hitting from the top means you only have the head, a small target, and the torso to hit, while on the bottom you have the legs and the torso, a very large target).
And yes, the fishing rod is an unorthodox weapon, but very useful. My friend has it in his arsenal regularly, and I have used it on a few occaisions. You can do this with them:
