As we grow bigger by the day, we have more and more members posting threads ... which is absolutely fantastic! However, some threads are more important than others, as while some threads may help 50 people, another thread may only help the thread poster due to it's specific and unique question.
From now, those type of questions will be posted here, in this megathread.
Teachers; check her periodically, or even turn on notifications for it so you can get pinged when someone asks a question - it can be a fun place to answer specific, unique questions!
Students; know the difference between a question that deserves it's own thread, and one that doesn't. For example, a question that can be answered with a simple "yes" or "no" should be posted here. A question that may dive into theory, tactics, or deeper dialogue does not.
For example; "Why did the engine recommend ng6?" would belong here, because the answer is likely to be brief and after it's initially answered, the thread will die. If the answer can end the thread, post the question here.
A question like "Is trading a queen for two rooks good or bad" can have it's own thread, because the answer cannot be defined by one person, as one person may say good, while another may say bad. Basically, if the question leads to further discussion without a definitive answer, make a thread for it, as other people will benefit from it. Nobody really benefits from "yes" or "no" questions, and they may hide other useful, more helpful threads from being seen.
Also, don't overthink it. We love the activity, as we pride ourselves as being the most active club on chess.com. So, when in doubt, make a thread for it and people will jump to help you. But, if you have a quick question that isn't too pressing and you just want a quick answer, post it here.
