Follow up question if one follows my address, https://www.chess.com/a/io2oAEDcgQPk and makes edits and saves, is the original file changed?
If yes, then other users can change my edits. Is there a way to share a write protected file, i,e. take a look but you can't modify my file? Performing an edit on a read only file would refresh the short url , thereby creating a different file.
I haven't tried this before so I might be doing it wrong, but here is what I got on my attempts:
1. When I go to the link you provided, move ...b5, then do Run Report, it gives a new URL. For me it was https://www.chess.com/a/7oS7Wrjgrc7g.
2. When I go to your short URL, I can't save an analysis unless I make a different move. I made a different move (8. Nxb5 instead of Bxb5), added an annotation, and clicked Save. It kept your short URL, and when I click on that short URL again, it goes back to your original analysis with nothing that I did saved.
@DevynDuffy thanks for checking. You have confirmed the new Run Report produces a unique file name. That's good.
As to viewing my file and saving after your edits and not seeing them, check after you edit and save try doing a share. See what the address at the top of the share popup window is. It may be the case that the browser web address is not refreshed after the save and your original edits do exist is a file somewhere.

This question may be valid in a broader context, i.e user games, but for the moment If multiple users analysis the same lesson and save does the later user's save overwrite the earlier user's save?
