I heard (I think it was mentioned on the SGU podcast) that the film wasn't going to be released in theatres in the US, because of the contriversial subject matter. I guess the potential distributors are afraid of the backlash from the significant portion of society that are creationists. 
This isn't the movie funded by ID proponents is it?

klhn444 - I don't really see what your comment has to do with a film about Darwin.
Darwin didn't adress the question of God with his theory at all - the theory of evolution has nothing at all to do with how the world came to be. It doesn't even address the question of how LIFE came to be - it merely explains how life diversified from very simple beginnings.
Further, the theory of evolution is not a theory who's purpose it is to overturn Christianity, or any other religion - it is a theory to explain the mechanism of change over time in living organisms. Most theists don't have any problem with the theory - it is only the minority of Christians who insist upon reading the Bible as a literal history, who have a problem with the theory.
And in my experience, the people who have a problem with it, don't know the first thing about it; they reject it blindly, not even knowing what they are rejecting, but rather choosing to believe that "evolution" means the the pittiful, woefully innacurate, strawman carricature their preachers tell them it is.
The more you actually bother to research the issue, the more you learn the actual evidence, the more evident it becomes how dishonest the creationist movement is in it's representation of it.
So again, the question of whether there is a god, or whether god made the world, has nothing whatsoever to do with Darwin, or evolution, and if you think it does, then I'm afraid you've been missled.
I wouldn't have thought that someone would argue your position in this group klhn444. Regardless, Stego is correct, Darwin fully believed in god and did not think that his theory affected the belief in god,if I know my facts correctly.
Darwins feelings and thoughts about religion wasn't so easy, but if he should be descriped as something, Agnostic would probably be the most accurate.
