Long mutes are overkill.......whoever thought this was a great way to go is plain wrong.
Itude was treated in the same way .
Im proud to be friends with both, not sure everyone else here would feel the same! 😷

It is overkill and it is wrong but if Jamie does not apologise she will stay muted until 21/06/21. Did't know Itude well but he seemed to be an ok guy.
I was going to post this in the main forums but,.......
I mean, I'm not a negative person. This is not intended to be thrown at the moderators or Staff at Chess.com. It occurred yesterday in the U.K. I sincerely hope no-one is offended but with everyone quitting their jobs the last couple of yrs......with the recent Supreme Court decision about abortions....etc. I would like to dedicate this tune to the Corona virus.....the high gas prices......and some comical relief to this group. So without further adieu......enjoy. 
What surprised me was the audience knew the lyrics. It took me a minute to figure out that this tune must be on U.K's pop radio stations.

This is off-topic for the Cheating Forum.
However, some mutes are done by staff, some are done by mods, and there's a bot that does some automated mutes. The bot catches a lot of spammers and abusive behaviour, but it also has some false positives, so if someone gets muted and they think it was incorrect, they should contact support.
In fact, anyone who has been muted, unless they were told it was a very short mute for a specific reason, should contact support.
We often use long mutes not because we want you to be muted for a long time but rather because we want you to have a conversation with support over appropriate behaviour before you get unmuted, so often we will mute someone for six months or a year but they can get unmuted within a day or two if they talk to support.
We normally only actually want someone to be muted for a long time if the behaviour that led to the mute was very extreme or if we've tried to get shorter mutes to change your behaviour and it hasn't worked.
