It's time to move the lesson forward. You can still post nuggets on the bishop or knight section in this forum. The next topic is the Bishop vs. Knights pgs. 77-103. Let's set a goal of the end of June to complete this section. You will find most of the games on http://www.chessgames.com/; this will make it easier to study the game along with the text.
Reassess Your Chess Study Group

It's time to move the lesson forward. Before we do please post some nuggets from the bishop vs knight lesson.
Here are my nuggets:
If you possess a knight, make the board knight friendly. if you possess a bishop, make the board bishop friendly. This seems like obvious advice but it's a key point of the chapter.
The bishop knight tests are taken from actual games. Most were available on chessgames.com. One last nugget in the text from the test-answer pages:
If your going to give your opponent the two bishops, make certain he can't open things up. if you possess the bishop pair, open things up and make the board bishop friendly.

Fans,
We are not receiving much feedback. This forum can remain active and we can post our thoughts as we move through the lessons. If anyone wants a more formal structure please post your suggestions. For myself, I am working through the book and will occasionally post comments.
I have worked through the rooks and I am on part 4: Psychological Meanderings. This first section is about giving up material as another imbalance. On page 149 a game is analyzed in which a rook is exchanged for a knight. You can view the game:

It's an interesting concept that was discusses in an article on the chess.com main page yesterday. The article is worth a read.
