Most are bizarre time controls. Not the usual 3|2 or 10|0
Regular Tournaments?

The time control will be different every Saturday. I don't know if theres one every month, but sometimes 30 min will be on Saturday

30 lasts toooooooooo long. It will sometimes start late at night as well, and then go till 3 in the morning

The 30|0 event is at 11 am Pacific, 2 pm Eastern. It doesn't run that late

I saw a longer time control tournament starting late one night recently. Maybe it was 15|10
The 15|10 starts at 5 pm Pacific, 8 pm Eastern. I think most of them are done well before 3 am Eastern.

If you have an average game length of 40 moves and each round there is one game that lasts almost the full time, then the total time the tournament uses would be about 3 hours and 15 minutes. That's a long time

In the fall the Waltham Chess Club will be offering a cash-invitational with a time control of 45|5 with one section at 9:30 pm. It runs 5or6 weeks, and is USCF rated.
So I was wondering if there are any regular length tournaments any more? Maybe I'm just not understanding the event schedule? Also, I used to play around a year ago and there were regular tournaments?
