That's if you have 2 tools. Then you can combine them to turn them into one tool, and the tools' durability will be added together, plus 10% bonus. This is generally not a good way to repair tools, especially valuable ones. Also, they do not need to have the same durability.

ok but if the one is less durableity is lesser than the other one,it will not completly an unused tool

I actually just found a village, then got a lecturn, and kept cycling till I got mending grin.png Plus made a fletcher for stick trades, I've already been able to buy three mending books. It cost 28, but since it's a desert village, I have to go back and forth for my wood. I put them on my boots helmet and pick for now. Boots and Helmet because they were close to breaking, and pick because its eff 4, fortune 3, unbreaking 3

Haha yeah I've had to reject similarly awesome enchanting books in my Mending searches.
