Report a Bug Confirmations

Hi Guys,

When we report bugs on the Beta version, we don't get any sort of confirmation or ticket number to say it's gone through and will be attended to.

I've reported a few bugs and I'm unsure on the status of them, if they have been looked at or if they've even been logged at all, I'm sure it has. From a user perspective though, it would be nice to see our bugs reported and the status of them.

Best regards,

Silent Knight.

I did check on your reports and found that we have received 4 reports from you.

2 of the bugs you reports were bugs we are already working on fixing

1 of your reports was suggestions and was filed away as future ideas to consider.

1 was a suggestion about adding tick mark to daily chess so you don't accidentally send move, but we have this feature already. You should have seen an email about it to show you.

Hi jdcannon,

Thank you for you feedback. Much appreciated.

Please can you point me in the right direction on how to activate the tick confirmation when submitting moves.

I think this is what you mean unless I am really confused about what you are asking for

I was suggesting to add a confirm dialog on the submit button.

Some times I make a move, then decide against it and instead of clicking cancel, I lick on submit as I'm used to submitting more than cancelling.

So you mean you want to have a confirmation button on the submit button?

A confirm popup. like a simple JavaScript    confirm('Are your you want to submit this move?');  on the submit click.

JD, I don't think this really answers the OP's initial request. I believe he wanted to have a way to check on these reports himself and be able to see their status. This could be done, for example, by a confirmation email when the bug is submitted, followed by another one once it is prioritized and/or resolved.

Consider, for example, how RedHat handles their bug reports, including ability to search for specific topics. Bugzilla, ClearQuest, and any other decent bug tracking systems provide this kind of capabilities, and give the reporters a peace of mind and a knowledge that they are being heard.

I understand that perhaps chess.com would not want to give unfettered access to the bug tracking to anyone, but perhaps restricting access to only the bugs filed by the person who queries the system would be feasible, no? I am pretty sure I filed some usersnaps in duplicate, being unsure whether I already reported something or not; this would be avoidable if viewing the list and status of my past reports was available.

I am hesitant to ask you for a summary of what happened to my bug reports the way you did it for the OP, since it would probably take a significant time to go through them, but if you look them up, perhaps this would get you to support the suggestion of adding some way of accessing the bug tracking system by the reporters :-)

@LegoPirateSenior  I could not have put it any better. That is exactly what I was asking.  A way to see our bug history like we have our messages and alerts. A mini ticket system sort of. Your post hits the nail on the head. Thank You!
