If I already know that I'm going to lose, should I resign or keep playing until the my king explode/checkmate?

Is the rating reductions different or same?

HungryOval

The rating deduction is the same

it depents how good you are at atomic. If you are bellow 2150 or facing a player bellow this rating you should never resign. In this rating groupe there is always a chance for a mistake to happen and you begin able to swing the game back. Once 2150 and you can resign if and only if you are 100% sure you have lost or want to be generous if you oppnent missclicked. Atomic is a game were one mistake can lose the game from a totaly winning posetion, so you should not give up or celebrate too earliy unles the game is set and done. I both expointed this and gotten away with a win i shound't have won and lost games i should have won. Just be sure you atleast try to win/draw in those almost imposible situation

TLDR: only consider resiging after reacthing 2150.

Have you ever resigned to forgive a misclick? I have seen a few misclicks. I don't resign and I don't ask for my opponent to resign if I misclick. Curious if there is an unspoken norm here.

I'd still take the win and don't expect anything if I misclick. I still feel bad taking the win from someone who misclicked, so it's up to you.

I prefer only to resign when it's around mate in 1 or 2. Additionally, some 2150s still misplay, so it can be worthwhile to keep playing to an endgame if you aren't completely losing.
