I didn’t run a whole lot. Got into the habit a few times throughout the year but never stuck to it. Asked for new running shoes for Christmas as my last 5-10 runs were in $29.99 Walmart sneakers. Got some nice ASICS. Been running lots the last month or so and looking to beat my furthest distance of 8.2km (nothing for this group!). Just did 6.5km now ![]()
Running Achievements 2024
Thanks for starting this topic @jay_1944. 2024 was a good year of running for me, setting a PB in the 5km distance (16:15). Would love to go under 16:00 this year. I owe it to training consistently and with a strong group of runners.
@Schoenhofer Well done on the mileage of last year.
@jay_1944 You'll be surprised by what you are capable of. Try out a 10k sometime when you are ready.
That is insanely fast! Elite level. Good work ![]()
Do you mostly work on speed or do you still run much long distance as well?
Between the time and distance of you two and reading David Goggins right now, was feeling extra motivated Lol Just ran 10k for the first time tonight! Took me exactly 58:00 mins. ![]()
Thanks. Mainly just doing a lot of easy running lately. My long runs are usually between 15-20k but I haven't done any marathons or ultras in years.
That's a great start for your first 10k. I've never read his book but I know he's inspired a lot of people. Stay hard.
Ran my first half marathon so got the PB in the process
,1:28 hour which I intend to bring down this year. Also PB'ed in the 10k, 5k and 3k. Failed to run any faster over shorter distances but I don't train for those anymore...
@Sigognac Nice achievements! Was the 3k on a track? I'm planning to do a couple 3000m races on an indoor track this season. it'll be a new experience.
I ran a good 1200 miles, despite some hamstring problems. That's pretty good for a fragile older runner.
Ya wow, we have some serious runners in here. Amazing numbers everyone. Thanks for sharing the inspiration!
Hi team!
What are everyone’s running accomplishments this last year? Any new experiences? PBs? Events you ran in?
