Hey! My goal for 2021 was to run 5km under 18 minutes and I brought my PB down to 17:14. I'd love to shed 15 seconds off in the New Year
You're doing great @jay_1944! Don't be too hard on yourself and enjoy the process.

Well done on 17 minutes comrade. I have a goal set for every distance from 400m (<1 minute) to 10k (<40mn). Merry running.
@Sigognac Those are excellent goals. I have never ran 400m under 60 but it is something I'd like to try one day.
A 1 minute 400 is a big challenge but progress being more linear in running than in chess, I hope I can manage it.
I do distance and sprint, I run 5k's and stuff like that every now and then. I do think I'm more of a sprinter though.
That's cool. Sprinting just ends too quick for me... I like long distance. The closest I get to "sprinting" is 200s done just under 30 seconds.
40 yards is the hyperbullet of running...
ya you gotta be athletic, sprinting is better for sports as well

Yeah, I play some sports so I work on sprinting, it helps a lot. Long distance I'm good at, just I don't do it as much.
What are your best times on various distances? I know I won't be catching you in chess anytime soon
Haha yeah . I run a 5:50 mile, and run a 22 min 5k. I haven't ran anything other than that. Normally when I race, I get top in my age group. I also do a lot of sprints, 40 yd 100yd, etc.
Hi all!
What are everyone's goals for running this year?? Any specifics? Please share
My goals will be similar as last year:
1) Run more consistently. If I run every other day in a week, will call it a successful week. Want at least 25 of those.
2) Run a 10K in person.
3) Improve lifestyle choices, and quit a couple bad habits which hinder running.
Looking forward to hearing from others!
