Schedule of upcoming events

The "Saturday" event is 10pm on Friday for me this time. I am not sure I'll be back in time to play. Oh well, at least people in Asia will get to play at a reasonable time.

If we have a tournament every week, then there's nothing special about any particular tournament.  Missing the tournament will then be no big deal, as there will be another one next week, so people won't put as much effort into arranging their schedule to fit it in, so we won't have very many people show up.

There's a compromise solution:

There could be weekly tournaments at 3 0 or other time controls but only the monthly 3/2 events would count.

Or perhaps one mid-month tourney that doesn't count.  I'll consider it.  But I don't want to dilute the main tourneys.

I think having additional unofficial tnmts would boost participation.

We're almost to 1500 members, so we'll have a 1500-member celebration event.  For 1000 members we did a 1|0 bullet event.  Maybe for 1500 we'll do 3|2 960?

Why oh why would you play 960 when there aren't enough blitz/bullet tnmts in this club?

Just to do something different from the regular schedule - do you dislike 960?

Intensely. It's a gimmick.

 I might do regular chess with a different time control, then.

I will probably do 960 or some of the other variants as a special event eventually, but probably later.

To join an event, do I click on one of the links in the profile of the untitled tuesday, also, what is the time control?

The standard time control for the group is 3/2, but there are occasional events with different time controls.

You can join by going into the live server, selecting it from the list of tournaments, and clicking the Join button.  Alternatively, you can use the links in the profile, but you'll still have to click the Join button.  You can join up to an hour beforehand.

We have a bonus 1500 Member Celebration event coming up on the 25th, and that will be a 2|1 bullet event, but our regular events are all 3|2.
