These questions use a standard deck of 52 playing cards with no jokers or wild cards.

#1) If you randomly deal 2 cards, what is the probability that both cards are aces?

#2) If you randomly deal 2 cards, what is the probability that the cards are an ace and king of the same suit?

#3) If you randomly deal 13 cards, what is the probability that all 13 cards are the same suit?

1) 7 out of 2652

2) 2 out of 663

3) 1 out of 190,504,067,880

that last one was challenging because most calculators switch to scientific notation once the numbers get too big.

#2 is correct, but #1 and #3 are not.

There are many free online calculators that can perform exact integer calculations on integers with 100 or more digits.

1) 4/52 * 3/51 = = 1/221 (12/2652)

2) you can be dealt either an ace or king the first time, so 8/52

next there is only 1 card that works, so 1/51

8/52*1/51= 4/663 (8/2652)

3) (52/52)(12/51)(11/50)(10/49)(9/48)(8/47)(7/46)(6/45)(5/44)(4/43)(3/42)(2/41)(1/40)=

1/(4*5*5*17*23*49*47*43*41)

= 1/158753389900

Oh i'm bad at simplifying apparently xd

and I'm the dummy that added 4 and 3 instead of multiplying on number 1. No idea why I did that, except it was the end of a long workday! LOL

Also, I am confused on how I missed 3, that is the calculation I did (without the unnecessary 52/52 at the start).
