Hey, new member here, what would the job entail?
Season 2 of US Chess League
Quite simple: When the pairings are announced you challenge your opponent to the team match with the appropriate settings (2 concurrent games, open rating, minimum of 2 players in div 2, min of 6 in div 1) or accept the challenge by the opposing team. On the date when the rosters are to be locked you lock the roster so that the match can start. Being part of the US Chess League group allows you to see what is being discussed and to follow the various announcements.
This above is the minimum work required. Anything else as in encouraging folks to sign up and so on is up to each group and how involved they want to get.
I'm sorry for the lateness of my reply. When you say pairings, you mean, for example, Team Florida v. Team Georgia?
And what is meant by two players in division 2 and six players in division 1? How do I discern the difference?
What else would you like to see me do, should I accept this? I really want to help, but I just want to clarify some of the jargon. Perhaps, you can send me private messages?
The pairings for Season 2 of the US CHess League are about to be set. Florida still needs someone to join the US Chess League so they can accept/issue challenges to the other teams. This means that someone needs to be admin here. It isn't a difficult job. Time is of the essence. I would need some feedback by this weekend otherwise Florida won't be able to play. Here is the link to join: http://www.chess.com/groups/home/us-team-chess-league
If someone wants to do it but isn't admin at this point let me or kyska know then we can promote you. I wil step down from the group once the season starts.
