its one of castling called "Yagura-Kakoi" yagura means urret or watcktower.

and kakoi means setting around.

15. ...... 8b-6b(6二飛)

pending guard on king, to get chance breakthrough with 飛

I have a few question. What mean:

- urret ?

- watcktower (may be watchtower) ?

I think that "kakoi" mean "castle" and yagura is name of castle (may be kind of castle).

Yagura is a strong castle from forward attack (on vertical line) and weak from side (on horisontal line) attack.

Will see continue this interesting game.

Sorry, I didn't recognized, that the update was not finished successfully. It seemed I reached the quota limit. Frown

I've uploaded it (after creating more disk space) and it should work, now. (Maybe you have to delete your browser cash.)

The correct file have the following size:

Yagura is not only the name of a castle, it's also the name of a game strategy.

(See also Hans Geuns' Basic Shogi Vocabulary.)

But the Yagura-Castle is something "special". As told, it's also (more) a game strategy. So when playing Yagura, (normally) BOTH players using this castle simultaneously (at least in professional games Wink).

If only one player uses this castle, it (often) can be destroyed easily.

Look for example at this games, which shows one kind of destroying it: Game 1 and Game 2

This I have thought at post #52 ("I should tell later").

So for the Yagura-castle there is more important than for other castles, that you are NOT thinking the following way: "I know Yagura-castle, it's strong, I will make it."

Only make it, when the position is ready for it. Wink
