This club has been pretty inactive for the past few weeks, because Pranav and I have been focusing on running our first major OTB event, the Silicon Valley Open. The tournament will be held this weekend, May 22-23. We have an amazing turnout of 97 players!
We will continue to run online events, but they will not be frequent. This is because OTB chess is returning all over the country and we have seen some reduced participation in our events.
We appreciate all of you for your continued support. Pranav and I were both new to tournament directing when we started this club, and all of your support has pushed us to now doing the first Major OTB event on the west coast in over a year!
Good luck to everyone playing on the weekend. I would have joined, but have family conflicts (sigh). Congrats to Pranav and Abhinav for putting together what appears to be a quality tournament with a strong field (4 IMs and at least 3 future IMs).
