Simple idea for Optimal thumb navigation on small screens

Hi! I have simple idea to ease the piece navigation.

Problem: Chess for phones need atleast 4.3" screen for comfortable thumb navigation. Anything smaller will make us beg for a capacitive STYLUS :(

Reason: It's because our fat thumb covers the selection cursor when we DRAG the piece!

Current Implementation almost works but not yet there:  I love the current chess.com idea where a magnified piece pops at the tip of our thumb when we DRAG that piece. But the problem is the actual cursor still remained covered under our thumb which makes navigation hard :(.

Easy Solution:  When we DRAG a piece, the cursor should be transfered at the TIP of our thumb instead of under it. That way the Piece along with the cursor sits visibly on our thumb anywhere we take it without obstruction.

Example Usage: Hold the Queen with the thumb; the queen Pops visibly on top of your thumb; not just the queen but also the selection cursor transfers to the top of your thumb; Drag your thumb and the piece along with cursor follows; That should work as effectively on small screens.

Thanks

Maybe it can be an optional setting?

Hi! no need to be optional because it doesn't conflict with the current implementation.  For  instance if you do the classical tap source then tap destination, normal rules apply where piece and cursor are naturally under your finger. My proposal will only take effect if you tap & hold or drag the piece.

I want to emphasize that it's so unessesary that the piece and cursor are Covered by your finger while moving or dragging it.  Even in real OTB play we always see the whole piece when we lift and place it to its destination.  My Android phone has big 4" screen but piece navigation during live game is too challenging.
