Solo Chess - record of games not saving

I tried the Solo Challenge this morning for the first time, at which time I completed all 10 levels.  I also tried Level 1 multiple times in a row to try and set a new "record".  Once playing a few moves of Level 1, I then left the chess.com site and went back on to see if the record would appear upon my next visit.  I was disappointed to see my none of my previous games saved.

This makes it challenging because if it does not retain my previous score, it seems like a waste of time continuing to play that specific feature, as my results will not be logged for future reference.

I have “Beta Chess” mode enabled and tried Solo Chess with two different Internet browsers (Opera and Firefox) and the record of games still did not save.  Maybe I'm just mistaken, but I thought that the previous game's record would save so you could come back at a later date and try to surpass your old "score".  But maybe I'm incorrect?  Just seems odd that you would play 10 Levels of Solo Chess Challenge just to have no record of ever playing it?

For informational purposes, my computer specifications are below.

  1. Internet connection is a DSL line with speeds up to 100 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload.
  2. Computer is a desktop with Windows 10 Home Edition operating system, with a Razer gaming mouse 3,500 DPI (dots per square inch).
  3. Web browser I’m using to access chess.com is Opera, but have also tried Firefox.

Razer gaming mouse 3,500 DPI how much did you pay for this mouse and is it worth the money??

Jonani

@QuantumCosmo it is truly personal preference of what computer components you like, as well as, depends on what you are using your computer for.  In 2010, it cost $71.89 (including tax) from Amazon.ca.

I got the mouse in March 2010 as a birthday gift.  I wanted it because it lit up blue and matched my desktop computer case.  I have three 200mm fans in the case (front, top, side) and a smaller 120mm in the back.  See link below for a picture of the mouse.

Eventually when I replace my computer I will be getting the mouse below or whatever similar one they sell at the time, since I don't plan on replacing the whole system for a few more rears.  Want to wait until DDR5 RAM is readily available and USB 4.0, both of which will not be out for a few years from now.

Some highlights of the mouse:

- 16.8 million colour options (spectrum cycling, breathing, static, and reactive).

- Razer mechanical mouse switches

- Equipped with the new esports-grade 16,000 DPI 5G optical sensor and true tracking at 450 Inches Per Second (IPS)

Long story short, I just prefer to have components for my computer that light up.  Just adds to the enjoyment of being on the computer (my preference).  I don't really play games or anything fancy.  I simply do not like slow computers.

I'll Check on this!

@QuantumCosmo You are welcome.  Glad my answer made sense.  Sometimes my explanations may be long, but I like to be specific when explaining certain things.

@jdcannon Thank you for looking into this!  happy.png

I did contact support about it a few days ago and Kayt replied to my initial inquiry.  I was corresponding with Amelia regarding the drawing arrows in 4 Player Chess back and forth for a while and I let her know I resolved my issue by switching browsers (from Opera to Firefox).  I asked Amelia if she had heard of anyone else mention the "Solo Chess" issue, just to see if I'm the only one.  Haven't heard back from her yet.

So I heard back on solo chess and at this time we are intentionally not saving progress on solo chess which is a bit weird to me. I will check to see if we have plans to start saving it.

How about a display of how many of each level you've successfully (or unsuccessfully) completed in a nice bar graph?

Jonani

@jdcannon  Thank you for updating me regarding my initial inquiry.  Hopefully Chess.com implements something in the future that will track your progress in Solo Chess.  Without a past record to compare your game to, I honestly find the feature lacking depth.  The site has some awesome features overall.  It just makes no sense to me why you wouldn't be able to save your progress, in order to have a way to compete against yourself and beat your "high score" from last time.

@jtang2018  That's a good suggestion! happy.png
