Anyone have any history about space?

I know a bunch. Like Neil Armstrong was the first man to walk on the moon, on July 20th, 1969.

During the launch of Apollo 1, a pad fire killed 3 crew members. =(

January 2nd 1948 NASA had a program where one teacher was chosen to go to outer space. Seventy-three seconds after launch the ship exploded, leaving no bodies. Not even fingers.

I know a lot more, but I am too lazy to type it. What do you know about space history?

I believe that the ship explosion you're referring to is the Challenger explosion. That was on January 28, 1986, not January 2, 1948

Also, does this forum have to be about the *history* of space travel, or can we also discuss the future of space travel?

Apollo 1 (1967) doing a test on earth. The test main capsule exploded killing all 3 people.They tested it in a building. Not 1948 and 1980s.

First animal in space was fruit flies. The US launched them into space in 1947. On V-2 style rocket.
