Great translation, @Anadara ! Thank you.

By the way, when I translated "4 Player Chess" game name to Russian I also named it "Четверные Шахматы". Maybe it is not the most precise or nice sounding translation, but the shortest one.  "Шахматы Для Четырёх Игроков" is precise, but long.

Thanks. I like the name "Четверные".

@BabYagun, normal translation. The most shortest name is "Четвёрки". :-) I am Russian. And I call this game in English "4 Head Chess" :-)

Анадара, здарово! Рад видеть русскоязычных игроков в четвёрки. Меня так увлекает игрушка, что спать не могу уже год! :-)

Bill13Cooper, rating isn't everything!

thanks! Also

9. Deflection is very common in the opening. I commonly win by exchanging my king's bishop for the player to my left's king's bishop, enabling my partner to win his queen and usually checkmate!

I use my Chromebook and I'm sad because I can't draw arrows.

This link tells how to right-click on a Chromebook touchpad.

quick question. Black to move. Is it checkmate or can black take the white queen?

Black suggests that if he takes the white queen then the silver bishop can take the gold bishop before it takes the black king and so it isnt mate. Its a team game. Opinions?

It depends on who is partnering with whom. It looks like silver is with Black and gold is with White. In that case, this is mate, because Black can make no move to move out of check and White's queen defends the gold bishop (if White were with Black, then the black queen is not pinned and can take the gold bishop).

Black says he can take the white queen (and end his go in check) but because the silver bishop can take the bronze bishop before blacks next go then it is not check.

Thoughts??

Again, by the rules we use here, Black is wrong. Whether you are playing by our rules can't be known unless you say you all agreed to do so prior to the game.

There is a solution that has a decent chance of working should you get a teammate who cannot communicate well: draw arrows and as a "high rated player" the partner is likely to see the arrow and, if the partner cannot find any threats, can play it straight away. Better than letting them be a P.I.T.A. or P.I.T.N (pain in the neck ------ idiom).

Usually, in these kinds of supersharp games the best moves (when there´s no immediate knock-out blow) are the moves that both attack and defend. In this particular game, the best moves are the moves that attack both opponents. Always look for multi-purpose moves. And if you find a move that defends and attacks both opponents all at once, holy smokes, you found some godly move.

@BabYagun and @martin0 I agree. Once my I suggested my partner a move and he played it even if his opponent's move attacked his queen. I lost that game because of my partner not saving his queen.
