@CEHastings Agreed! And if the moderator preferred to do both or nothing, the choice would one of mandatory discretion. Or not.
Strikes Suggestion
I'm not sure the users need to know when the strike goes away. If they know, they also know when it's "save" to misbehave again.
I agree
You could have it so that if you keep getting strikes your account gets banned permanently

Disagree! Because some people are not good if they loss the match, they even uses bad word. So, if you say anything on their mistake or even not to needed say anything to them, they sometimes block your account. I play with those kind of players every month. So,they will give you strike. One or two strike regularly in a month.
We have some similar ideas coming up.
But we are unlikely to publically display negatives about people. I know for one I would hate for the world to see a little tattoo on my forehead for every time I did something stupid.
There's also that "Question Mark avatar" that shows up. I make a real effort not to report anyone, even if moves look weird.
Actually, I think banning happens a lot for abusive language, what i mean is I'd like to know how many strikes I have against me so i know where I am. Lately, I've been really nice on all threads.
If members' poor behavior modified to avoid fatal third strike that is a plus not a negative. The goal is not to punish badness. The goal is to stop badness!

I agree. It would be helpful for one to know where they stand with chess.com in terms of adherence to their policies. You try your best to be cordial with people, but sometimes there are bumps in the road, so to speak. It would be helpful, so you have the opportunity to correct your behavior if and when needed.
Good suggestions, I'm sure I've crossed the line a few times.
