For the benefit of everyone here, this is how not to play an endgame, especially when you have forced mate! I'll let the endgame speak for itself Embarassed.

I am including two games from team competition on ICC.  The league is titled after the time control of all games, 45/45League.  Hence G/45+45.  These live games are schedule a week in advance and most approach these games similar to an OTB experience.  That is, I set up a board and a notation pad.  Time controls are managed by the system so no "clock" is necessary.  The PGN's include the time left after each move.

I have put my own analysis in the PGN's but have not put any game to an engine until after my own thoughts, those of my opponent or others and after looking up my opening repertoire.

The first game is an obvious win, but my play is still passive and positional.  It seems as though I lack courage to move and feel weak in analyzing two and three ply deep in most positions.

Next, as Black in the Modern Defense, a great example of my lack of vision and calculations.

Played this after some good wins for me and was closing in on a 1100 rating.  This was the 5th game of a rapid swiss tourney and I lost my concentration and discipline.  Aggressive queen play always messes me up...but then I went on to make even more mistakes.  Ashamed of this game...lol.

Pretend inferiority & encourage his arrogance !!!

This guy beat me in a tourney and luckily I got to play him 3 games later.  He won because of a mouse slip.  Where I was beating him and was about to beat him in approximately 6 moves.

I had my queen taken by his promoting pawn.  Tried to PxP and instead my pawn moved forward.......

He then acted like a jerk telling me how he was going to beat me anyways that it was inevitable and he was superior..........

Here's the game I got my revenge:    ---> BTW, he resigned on move 22 wink.png
