Possible thoughts:
1. It would also be fun to have a 4-person team league where teams get together and study and prepare for the matches, like a real Chess Olympiad.
2. If we get enough teams registered, we may need to create separate rating-based groups as well, like in Tata Steel 2012 :)
3. We might want to create our own logo, to keep from being accused from using the Chess Olympiad Dresden 2008 logo.

1. The four person league would be held as follows. A group of four members gets together and signs up under a team name. Then, they can study in either a forum or group of their own. More groups join, and it is like a smaller version of your current idea. All members would have to play all matches, and there would be a constant board 1, 2, 3, and 4. This would definitely need some rating limitations, though.
