The Chess Olympics - League Rules, Regulations and Requirements! Below are the rules and regulations for the The Chess Olympics. It is imperative that these regulations be abided at all times. These requirements are also absolutely mandatory for all groups to meet. If your team surpasses or does not meet a certain requirement, please resolve the matter or register for next season. If your team fails to follow a specific rule, your group is automatically eliminated from the Olympics: Requirements: 1. Your team is required to have a minimum of 100 members and five team matches completed OR a minimum of 50 members and ten team matches completed. Your group may not have more than 1000 members. Exceptions are made. 2. You ARE required to register your team in the registration forum, which will be created shortly. 3. You must provide Chess Olympic administrators with a minimum of 3 staff contacts for your group. This is to ensure that we have a firm connection to your team. ------------ Rules and/or Regulations: 1. You are required to respect all group members at all times. Infractions of this rule will result in your team's automatic elimination. 2. You are required to abide by your assigned schedule. If you need to modify the schedule you are given, please inform an Olympic Administrator. 3. You must report to an administrator if your team surpasses a member limit. This is crucially significant. If this rule is exceeded, you will be eliminated from the competition. 4. If you do not provide the Olympics with three administrator contacts, you may not participate. Welcome to the Chess Olympics! - Our Official Guide The Chess Olympics is one of Chess.com's newest leagues, as of Jan. 25, 2012. Managed and founded by The_Chess_Ninja and CalbaMan, this championship will substantially focus on team matches, although we may, at times, switch to vote chess. Similar to many other leagues, the Chess Olympics conducts its actions in season/tournament format. Below is a basic diagram of our tournament system. Your team and your opponent should be done with your vote chess olympics before October 17, 2012. 3. When your vote chess olympic match ends, please let us know so we can mark it on your score. (evidence needed) 4. Make sure that your team has done more than 2 SVC Wins to be able to participate in the Vote Chess Olympics. 1. Each group will be placed in one of the 3 sections. Your group will be placed in a section which is determined from your number of members, number of SVC wins, 2. Each group will be placed in one of the 3 sections. Your group will be placed in a section which is determined from your number of members, number of team match wins. 2. Below, you will find answers to numerous questions that are often sent to administrators. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact an administrator or post your question below! Thank you and enjoy! Frequently Asked Questions: 1. My team has just surpassed the member limit for registration. Can I still register my group? Answer: As stated in the requirements forum, exceptions may be made; so, this depends. If your group has just barely tipped the limit, you may register. However, if you are significantly above or below the limit, you may not register. 2. Is there a specific "average rating" requirement for registration? Answer: No, there isn't, although there may be in the future. 3. When will my team's matches start? Answer: You will be given this information in your schedule. Chess Olympic matches usually initiate periodically; for example, when one match ends another may begin. 4. May I withdraw from the Olympics once it begins? Answer: Yes, it is possible. Please note, however, that you will lose multiple team matches if you choose to do so. 5. Does my team have a strong chance of winning? Answer: It cannot be guaranteed that your team will win. Each group has an even chance at the trophy. However, we do recommend that you have as much experience as possible.
