It'd be nice to have a separate application to play online chess in. Definitely would keep me from getting distracted by other tabs during my games, as well as other benefits in certain ease of access and customization settings.
If you hit F11, it's full screen and you don't see other tabs. I play almost all my blitz games this way.
After the game, hit F11 again.

Click on three dots, hover on more tools.
CLICK ON CREATE SHORTCUT. CHECK "Open as window". CLICK OK.
And desktop app will be made
If you use Edge, you can "install" chess.com as a separate window.
Or if you want a "real" desktop app, you can check out this project JairusSW/Chess.com: Chess.com Windows App. It has features like Discord integration and desktop notifications.
