good idea
maybe you could put it in beta, see if people enjoy it then decide if you want to take it off.
but tx for considering the idea.
it is kinda hard to get used to, but when you do its hugely fun, trying to guess which pawn is the opponent's queen. The the is, if you sac like a bishop for 2 pawns then you could possibly take his queen for a bishop!
it can move like a queen at any point, but moving it as a queen will reveal its identity to your opponent, so making traditional pawn on square moves can keep your "secret" queen secret a bit longer.
You know its a queen as soon as you move it like a queen right?
I don't quite understand what you mean?

Sounds like it would be fun! Would promotions work the same way?
EDIT: Could be painful if you placed the queen-pawn on a2 or a7, aiming at f7 or f2.
Basically, secret queen works exactly the same as regular chess, but with one difference, At the start of a game each player chooses one of his/her pawns which then becomes a queen, but still looks like a pawn to the opponent. My friends and I have loads of fun playing this, so just wondering if it could be a possibility? Thanks, YKwaggasmit
