Suggestion: # of Games Played (site wide)

I like the stats on the main page of chess.com, which inclues the total number of "games today".  However, it doesn't specify when the stats are updated. 

For example, the total games played in a 24 hour period, is that based on EST or a different time zone?  Because people from all across the world use the site, it would be a nice addition if you could specify when the stats for this particular number are updated.  I know most people might not care that much, but I think it would be nice to know.

well, if we averaged 1.5million per day all time it would be 5,478,750,000‬ games, not really that much

I could be wrong, but I always assumed toal number of games played today were based on a time zone in the United States, since the founder @erik is based in that country.

@rcu21  As I said in my original post, I agree that it is based on total number of games played in the past 24 hours.  However, that doesn't answer my question of what time zone the site uses to base this information from?

For example, I am in Canada and it's currently 9:42 PM.  Whereas you are in Bangladesh and it's currently 7:43 AM.

Does that make sense?

ok i see what you're trying to say but it doesnt matter which time zone it is based off of because the whole world expierenced the past 24 hours

@rcu21  I would disagree.  Because there is an approximate 12 hour difference between some parts of the world, this means the stats would not be completely accurate.  They would be off by about half a day, depending on which part of the world you reside in.

I would prefer if for example the stats were based on the Eastern Standard Time Zone (EST) in the United States, or Coordinated Universal Time Zone (UTC), which is is a successor to Greenwich Meridian Time (GMT).  At least then you would have a better understanding of the accuracy of the information, depending on where you are geographically located.

I have to agree with RCU.  If it is updated every hour, it makes no difference as it is the last 24 hours for everyone in the World.  Now if it is only at a specific time every day, than you would have to know the time zone for accuracy purposes if you were really concerned about it!

If these stats are updated every hour, then yes, time zone would be irrelevant.  However, I have no knowledge of whether the stats are indeed updated regularly on an hourly basis or not?  Could you provide information to support this @KnightCharles or are you simply assuming they're updated every hour?  I'm looking for a concrete answer, not mere speculation and have yet to receive one.
