Well, we've got 6 teams now, so we've got enuf to start the season next month no matter what. I just posted in 2 dozen groups inviting them to join us. We'll see how many say yes. The new season will start in October again this year for sure!! Any ideas for the mascots/theme this year? Here's a recap of the ones we've used so far:
Season 1: Freddy vs Jason
Season 2: Dracula vs Frankenstein
Season 3: Aliens vs Predators
Season 4: Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe
Season 5: ??? - yet to be determined
Obviously we've done a lot with the Halloween theme, but we're not locked into it if you've got something else in mind. Some suggestions so far have been Angels vs Demons, Heroes vs Villains, and Cowboys vs Aliens.

checkfour - I'm afraid you can't register a team if you're not an admin of that team. You wouldn't be able to issue or accept challenges once the season starts. Chess Unlimited has played with us in every season so far, so I'm really hoping they'll join us again, but I need one of the admins to agree before I can officially sign you up.
craiggillies67 - thank you for your interest, however your university of witchcraft has only played a single game of vote chess in it's history, it's not even finished yet, and it's not at 10-minutes per move. We've had such a problem with people timing out and/or not showing up that we can only accept teams who have played a minimum of 5 games at a 10-minute per move pace. Sorry about that. You're welcome to join any of the other teams in the league and/or encourage your team to play some speed vote games so that you can qualify. All speed vote games must last a minimum of 16 moves to be counted towards qualification. Thanks again.

Commander_Riker - Sorry, but Ultimate Vote Chess hasn't played enuf SVC games to qualify for the tournament yet. We've had a lot of issues with teams who don't show up to play and/or timeout early, so we had to make a minimum requirement. You have to play at least 5 games at 10-minutes per turn (without timing out) that last for a minimum of 16 moves each. Hope to see you in next year's schedule.

Even tho we keep taking these long extended breaks (mostly cuz I no longer have the extended hours that I used to dedicate to it), there still seems to be a lot of interest in this league. I think a set annual schedule will help in making sure things don't break down again in the future. This is one of the topics being discussed in the Season 5 thread. Please check it out and voice your opinion on the various topics so that we can have a system that everybody can live with.
This thread will be for registering teams in the new Season. Any team wishing to compete in the upcoming Season 5 needs to post in this thread. Please do not send me personal messages to register. We need everyone's signature in one place.
Every group must designate one person who is primarily responsible for starting the games, and 2 other admins who agree to keep the games alive. All 3 must be a member of this group in order to qualify.
Also, due to the high volume of dropouts/timeouts/no shows that we've had in the past, in order to play in the SVC League, your team must have played a mimimum of 5 games at 10-mins per move that all lasted a mimimum of 16 moves each, without timing out. Games lasting 15 moves or less will not count.
