I am Jamie de la Rosa.  The "de la Rosa" (Delarosa - anglicized) is Hispanic, and was the name of an ancestor here in California.

I am the mother of four adult children.  I have been married over 30 years.

Of the sword, spear, or battle axe, I prefer the axe in close quarters combat, as I can use it to lop off limbs and fend off swordsmen. :-o

I am Daywalker, half breed to a human mother whom I 'freed' from her captor and my vampire dad - Frost, whom I sent to hell!  I have a variety of weapons at my disposal (created by my mentor Whistler) but I trust my special Tanaka sword!

I am a father of 5, grandfather of 1 and married (2nd) for 14 yrs.  I love volleyball, rugby & chess (self taught at school) and value friendships, loyalty, integrity and respect.

You can view my profile of all my groups...and most of my slain victims ;-) who are now ashes (mainly vamps; familiars; witches; trolls; walking dead & other unfortunate souls who cross my path).

They are many, we are few.  I am Blade, the Daywalker ;=)

I am the Dark Phoenix. The blood of my enemies fuels the black flames upon my wings. I am a necromancer, raising invincible armies from deep within the earth to fight in my favor; I am a berserker, and fight on, heedless of my wounds, even when all of my burning blood has drained. I have not once resigned a game, and I never will. When we lose our will to fight, that is when the world will end... and I will never cease to fight! All the same I am very courteous to my opponents. I love people, even while I so often go off and read for hours on end. My favorite books are fantasy, and my favorite shows and movies are the same genre. Another site I go on: Khan Academy. I love math. Yes, I just randomly stuck that in there.

BTW I am a guy if you couldn't tell, in my teens. Flatulence!

Hi all, I am Andy and I live in Derby in the UK. The family name on my mother's side was "Kelson" and I'm told the name has Nordic origins. I also have Celtic blood in my veins as my father is Cornish. I'm happily married with three children, one teenager and two very young little mischiefs! I have lived in other parts of the UK in my life, including out of my car during a very brief fortnight's homelessness. However, I always seem to return to Derby as my home, like a chess player returning to their favourite opening.

I have dabbled a bit on here and on other sites with Live Blitz games, but I get more pleasure from slower, daily games. They seem to me to be more fulfilling and note insightful. I started playing chess about 23 years ago - before the internet! - and have played my fair share of OTB chess. Now however, because of the children, I don't have as much time available to dedicate to the game. So instead I tend to only play Correspondence chess, (also known as Turn Based, or Daily chess). I play on other sites too, including the ICCF and Scheming Mind. My beautiful wife has said that as a Father's Day present she is going to gift me a year's subs to the ICC site too so I'm very excited about that.

Anyway, that's enough about me for now and thanks for reading. Frel free to add me as a friend on here.

Regards, Andy ☺

Hi

I am Colin aged 64 living in Plymouth Devon UK. I was taught as a child by my father and played quite a bit until I went into armed forces, got married and had my 5 children. Recently started again and looking to join a local club when they reconvene in autumn.

I have also been studying as a Erilaz [Old Norse] for someone who is a Rune Master [Vitki] and also Priest [Godhi] in the Asatru (Old Norse for religion of the Aesir) for about 5 years and looking to reach the third grade (highest) called Tyr Aett fairly soon.

The difficulty in writing rune poems is the old Norse language which of course is unavailable in a dictionary and has to be transcribed from my English to current Norweigan or Old English then using entymology of the word to give the final product. This then has to be on stave rhyme (alliteration), assonance and kenning. So as a poor example:

Odin my drychton (ruler) guide me in my quest to do my best (assonance)

This dis (lady) of chess frustrates my cool, calm collected mind (Stave rhyme)

May my enemies fall at my sharpe wound hoe (sword) attacking mind Kenning

And my defence like Etin (Giant Jotunn renown for his strength) be a fortress and my craft float by on the calm fish bath (sea). Kenning.

I am interested to chat to anyone about chess or Norse.

Hello, folks.  I will try not to be a disgrace to the other Viking warriors. My mother's family are Swedes; my father's, Danes.  I figure there must have been some Vikings back there somewhere. In younger days, I went by the name of Swede--which confused those who knew, since my last name was Danish.  Retired civil engineer.  Worked for Calif. State Parks,  Calif. and Ariz. Hwys building bridges, a uranium mine in Wyoming, and the Navajo Tribe in northern Ariz.  I collect Thor's hammers, and I make and sell bead-woven jewelry and small copies of Navajo rugs.
