Withers do cause an explosion when they spawn. Also, said explosion are heard anywhere in the world, so a farm would be annoying. Also, they only can be spawned by players or by commands.

u can suffocate the wither in java(i tried in bedrock but it dosen't work

thats the whole reason hes getting xp (except for a whole lot other reasons.) Also a wither farm could be constructed using the bedrock of the ender dragon portal

but it isnt automated spawning, it just makes it easy to kill a wither
