The first h9 game in history ... watch online

I have challenged our great founder and visionary ZucchiniMann to play a public game on a proper chessboard, i.e. with the h9-square. Since I won coin tossing I have the honour to play as White. We will post our moves in this forum. Comments and suggestions are more than welcomed.

My first move: 1.c4

21 possible moves to start the game with Black, that's too much for me. I'll have to think about it.

Boletus: would you accept to make all the diagrams? Yours look much better than mine ;)

Sure, no problem. Just post your move and I`ll PM you a pic. You will update your comment afterwards.

I hope to have a C++ code with the proper chessboard soon but I think it won`t help me much on chess.com.

So, first move for Black: 1. ... Nf6

No more dutch defense. But trying to stay flexible.

I think that Black should be made to resign immediately if white can place any of its pieces in H9 putting the Black King in Check, what do you think?

Avatar of SuperCourgette

I strongly disagree CaptainPlop, we are not playing rugby! You come on my territory, I'll eat you. I am huuuuungry!

Now I'll go 2. ... b6, even though I'm not sure that it combines good with a Nf6.

CaptainPlop, we are not playing a new version of chess. This is the original one which will be sooner or later (later I reckon Wink) proven and accepted by all chess players and fansLaughing

Good luck to both players, in this unique, ground breaking game. May we all be remembered as the group who brought the H9 square back to the forefront of Chess, where it truly belongs

Guys, did you know it was possible to move two pieces in one move? That`s amazing. LaughingLaughing

ZM, I think there is no need to post diagrams for your moves. Do you agree? If so I won`t send you diagrams any more.

Move two pieces in one move?! Isn't that cheating? Like that trick for beginners, you know, advancing 2 pawns a single square...

5. ... g6

As for the diagrams, that's ok, unless our international audience has some issues with it.

Avatar of Boletus_CZ

Well, ZM since you are a better player I am afraid I`ll have to move 2 or more pieces in one move again just to keep up. Laughing

You know what they say: when you move a piece, you're weakening squares. If you move too much, you'll create too many weaknesses. You'll purely and simply disintegrate. Be my guest! Move!
