The Grumpy Tournament

Hi All,

Ok, here it is the long over due Tournament... The groud-rules are as follows:

(at least unless someone offers something better :-)  )

Each game is a 3day per move game.  Each game is unrated.

Its a double elimination meaning you lose twice and you are eliminated.  (yes I'm just making this stuff up as I go.)

The higher rated player will challenge the lower rated player.

If in the event there aren't an even number of players the lowest rated player gets the pass to the next round (thereby ensuring our dedication to lower rated players).

We will just play a single game per player.. (I know this means you may not get to play both white and black - but it is unrated :-)   )

After the first game is played by all pairs, I will repeat the matchings based on the winners/losers etc.  When in doubt, I will flip a coin.

Plesae send me a message when the game concludes so I can keep track and update the forum.

Sounds great. Just a thought: to ease organistation, shouldn't we all put "The Grumpy Tournament" in the game name? It might be easier than trying to dig through users' game archives among dozens of "Let's Play"s.

Making "The Grumpy Tournament" the game name would make my organiztion a bit easier...

Also, on the outside chance that someone can't challeng (for say a period of two weeks - its a forfeit for the game.... - just to keep things moving)

can we not do that through actually team site rob? i sure we can

me and rob will try do it though the group for tournament agreat guy. if we can't will post it to say and then let the games begin

Maybe we should make 2 subgroups for our group so that we can use the match feature on the website to play each other.  i.e. the Little Grumps vs. Big Grumps. (someone more creative could think up the names)  They'd be 2 separate groups but we'd know we are all one.

thats an interesting idea....  Maybe Grumpy Munckins vs Sleepy Munchkins :-)

Maybe once we get more members. As is is, we have trouble forming a large enough team for a regular team match.

Oh... and when is the next one of those coming up? I love team matches!
