The heart knows

To claim that a collection of cells within the hear are "thinking" in any way we understand is misleading to say the least.

That is not a scientific statement of any kind I recognise and sounds like something very different.

Can you explain what goes on in the brain?

Avatar of stephen_33

No, because I'm not a neural scientist. But what's your point?

Look it up, that is not all that is written about it. It’s new to me,

If anyone's claiming that the heart is somehow 'thinking' for itself, that's dubious in the extreme.

Do you have a point you wish to make here or are we going to do that 'fencing' routine for another 'n' pages? 😄

A new 3-D map illuminates the 'little brain' within the heart (sciencenews.org)

A quick search reveals that this has been realised for some time! ....

"Armour, in 1991, discovered that the heart has its "little brain" or "intrinsic cardiac nervous system." This "heart brain" is composed of approximately 40,000 neurons that are alike neurons in the brain, meaning that the heart has its own nervous system"

It's not clear why this should suddenly arouse great interest?

Blow it off, I just saw it and thought it interesting. It is right up there with information processing.
