This is clear in every tournament - the times are not Asia friendly. How are we supposed to play from 1030-1230 in the night? Even later in some other countries too! Maybe 2 tournaments every two weeks? One perhaps at the opposite times like 1030-1230 am IST and 1030-1230 pm IST. Also the prize will remain same as it is every two weeks. There seems to be many complaints about the timing. This seems like a good way to involve everyone with the same prize. ( Brought from the other announcement comments). Upvote this if you think it is hard for you to play in the current timings.
The Improvers' Sunday Rapid Tournament - Updates
Thanks everyone for coming. That was fun, even more than last time due to fairer pairings with the added section. I did a quick summary of this week's tournaments' numbers. Hopefully, they will get better every week!
Update on the Improvers' Sunday Rapid Tournaments - Feb 16, 2025
Thank you for playing in yesterday's Rapid tournaments. I'm glad you all liked the two sections!
I'm super happy that the Fair Play team reviewed the tournament and found no violations. This is music to my ears!
The final standings can be found here:
I've awarded the 1-month diamonds to the players finishing in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 25th, 50th, and 75th places. Those with Apple/Google/Paypal subscriptions will be contacted for alternative prizes.
We will still use the same format next weekend, on February 23. The Community Team will discuss additional updates to the format and offerings before the beginning of March. I will keep you posted on any developments!
As always, please comment here if you have any questions or feedback!
My friend has made the appeal and I am trying to contact directly to chess.com to help him
They have to do it themself, i also tried to appeal for @s-a1m, but they denied.

He appealed himself and as a friend I'm helping him
I was also saim's friend, and he did appeal himself, but they didnt even tell him on whoch game was he alleged, and didnt reopen his account. I asked, they denied. They have to do it only and only themself, sorry, its not my rule. Just telling.

I asked on cheating forum, @MGleason himself reported your friend and when you dig deeper the cheating is painfully obvious. Look at how fast he got rating and his crazy win streaks.
You can't know if your friend cheated or not unless you were right next to him every moment he was online and playing

I have played very much OTB chess with him and I know how he plays and his skill level
Sorry but he could be 1200 or 1300 and could easily crush you otb but you wouldn't know if he was 1300 or 2200. And send me the videos that could get me 2000+ elo in less than a year
You can also see @ArpitSetia07 account, he has got some crazy wins with exact amount of time every move with really high accuracy plus he also has 2 accounts which is already cheating both his accounts should be banned immediately
@SAofficial is correct: while on the result page you only see one tiebreak number, there are actually more listed and you can see this when you download the results. If all tiebreaks are the same, the final tiebreak is the rating of the player.
Attaching some screenshots:

Maybe we could have both blitz and rapid tournaments? And maybe there could also be added some tournaments on other days? i'm sure that there are some who can't play on sunday, though probably very few
@Georg1157J
I think you should definitely join. As you can see in the screenshot above from Judit, a player with a rating of 573 won all his games. It's possible to win all games with the current sections for any players.
Aside from winning, it's also a great opportunity to learn with players of different ratings, ratings you don't usually play with due to how matchmaking works. You don't risk losing many points when playing a higher rated opponent, but you have the chance to win a lot of points!
And finally, the more players play these tournaments, the higher the chances are for other types of tournaments to be organized by chess.com for improvers! It's a win-win for me, and if I have the time, I'm sure to play it.
Yes, this is also unfair
As unfair as this might seem, you can also see that tiebreaks are used in professionnal tournaments as well, where prizes are worth more than 1 month premium membership. Even this week's Titled Tuesday (a lot of players with a score of 9, but not all have prizes) and Freestyle Friday (Duda, Lazavik et Maghsoodloo have same score but different prizes) has players with score equal to prize position, but tiebreak leaves them without a prize.
Congrats on the 4/4 score! If you keep performing well, tiebreaks will be in your favor at some point. With the split of two sections, we should see closer match in terms of rating, and way less people with a perfect score, increasing your chances to win a prize.
