The king took the "WALK OF PRIDE" to deliver a checkmate

The title might confuse you. Like how can a king deliver a checkmate to the opposing king? Well, it happened. Many of you might have heard the term "walk of shame" if you are a Gotham viewer. Many of the videos in his "How to lose at chess" playlist feature low Elo games, in which a player dominates from the start but hangs a mate in 1 towards the end.

But it doesn't happen often in the 1200+ level.

However, I would like to show you one of the blitz games that I played today (3+0 time control), where my opponent decided to castle on the opposite sides in the English defense against 1.d4, and I (as white) began a brutal attack towards his kingside, hunted and tortured his king all over the board, but couldn't find a way to checkmate. In the end, the black king reached the complete opposite side of the board, and due to a time scramble, I hung my queen. I was about to get mated on the back rank by a rook supported by the opposing king which didn't allow my king to go out, but won on time.

Here's the game:

There were a lot of mates in between, but I just couldn't figure it out lmao. Like how did that king go from c8 to f2💀

Sorry for the unavailability of the game analysis, I was just too lazy to write the annotations lol.
