What a strange world we live in!  Fifty years ago I was still at school and was invited to play in the IM Brown, I still play in the IM Brown but now I'm losing.

When I played for Bradford 50 years ago their venue was in the Mechanics Institute, I think it was called the Central Cafe. I remember two women selling teas, coffees, buns etc. I don't think they were keen on the pipe smoke . I don't think the pipe smokers were keen on them.

I thought the two women were old, but  one(the younger&smaller one) has returned to my life and calls me granddad,  She has a striking resemblance to Sarah, who used to climb on my shoulders, hit me on the head and say "come on"

Where was the Central Cafe? in the same block as where Carters Toy shop once was?

No, it was in the Mechanics Institute on Tyrell Street, Carter's was the other side of Bridge Street.

Back to the point. Where do kids get to play now? Evening leagues are not really suitable. Sheffield seem to be playing young ones on Saturdays but what of other teams?
