A couple of remarks on the developments in our club:
We keep falling down in victory rate - meaning, we keep losing more club matches than we win. There are two clear reasons for this:
First, our strongest players don't often enlist in our club matches. Mainly lower-rated players enlist in them - which means the opponent teams often end up being stronger. And especially in matches where the opponent teams have already enlisted many strong players, our own players seem to be timid to join - fearing they will face stronger opponents. Which is understandable, but doesn't really help us win the matches.
Second and even more important: our members are losing far too many games on time. This is an eternal issue and every club struggles with it. We are all humans, after all, and chess is just a game, more important issues make us busy in life and make us forget our games until its too late. It happens to me, too. But if you keep losing almost all your club matches on time, then you may have a more systematic problem - and you should reconsider how many club matches you enlist to.
In other words, while I keep encouraging people to enlist to our club matches and tournaments, at the same time I would like to remind you that when you enlist, please then also keep track on time. Don't enlist to more clubs and more matches than you can handle. If you have more than you can handle in your hands, don't enlist to more.
And especially, don't just abandon all your matches and open a new account. That's not honorable. A person of honor finishes what he starts. Even if that means losing or surrendering.
We are gradually growing with new members joining every few days. But at the same time, a very small number of members are active. And there's no discussion at our forum. So, I'd like to encourage you to also talk with the fellow members about anything you wish, especially under this place (forum).
Finally, I wish very good New Year 2023 for Club Coronación! It's been an honour to serve as an admin here, and to play so many matches that I now seem to be the top match player of our club - surpassing even the Club's founder and superadmin, @DrMartinezGomez !
