2 days per move sounds fine for me - I think that may be a good idea. Of course, depending on people's wishes, we can open new vote chess chalenges with any time limits you wish.
The key to vote chess victory is definitely communication - now that our game against The Lutheran is over, you can go over the moves archive and see the comments for both sides. The difference between the teams is like night and day - we had comments and analysis on almost every move, whereas on our opponent's side, there was only one comment made during the entire game - the move when they lost their queen, somebody posted "bye bye queen!" or something to that effect.
Their votes were all over the map, with everyone voting on their own, with no co-ordination, and no-one even warning anyone when they were in a precarious situation with many possible dissasterous moves.
So let's learn the lesson here, and keep communicating in our vote chess games - and if you are lower rated player, and something people are discussing in the analysis goes over your head, don't hesitate to ask for clarification, or ask to see the reasoning behind some suggested move. It's the best way to learn!
Also, for anyone wanting to maybe participate in vote chess, but who's worried about the time limits being too tight, note that you do not have to actually vote on every (or any!) move in the game - if you miss the deadline, others will have voted anyway. It's unlikely that everybody misses the deadline on a move.
Joining a vote chess game gives you access to the in-game discussion, and you'll be able to contribute as much or as little as you like, so joining a vote chess game doesn't really have a downside, as far as I can see.
Didn't we already have a thread like this? I thought we had, never the less, I couldn't find it so here goes a new one.
We recently won our first vote chess game, lots of fun even though I wasn't as active in it as I plan to be in the future, granted I'm no great player, but the opportunity to learn is to much to pass over. I where however though, wondering if 2 days per move wouldn't be a little bit more helpfull than 1, seeing as how the discussion could go on longer, and, atleast for the ones of us having questions and wonders about various lines, and why they wouldn't work etc. Granted though, that could result in people dropping interest in the game due to it being to slow, so I guess that's up for the rest to discuss and decide upon.
Another, how many vote games are we going to have up roughly?
I figured we could use an official vote chess game, so use this thread for whatever discussions, thoughts, or just about anything you want to share about our vote (and vote games in generall) games.
Cheers and let's hope we manage to squeeze more victories out of our comming games.
