This was an old, but REALLY fun feature. I want it back.

Public Profile Notes. Yes, they're the notes that appear on your home screen.

Most of the new people on Chess.com probably won't know this feature, but it was basically: you send a note in someone's profile, and they respond in your profile notes. All chats are visible to everyone. It was really fun, but they removed it. 

I'd like to have them back, I don't know why they removed it, and I don't know why it's for coaches only..?

It ended when the new profile design was released. My understanding is there are no plans to bring them back.

Oh yeah, I just went and checked because I know my profile page had the notes box sometime in the last few months, it was at the bottom of the page where the blue circle is in this screenshot,
but now it's gone. Even though in my settings page the option to have the notes on your home screen is still there, as you can see in this screenshot.

So yeah, I wonder why the option is still there but the notes don't actually show up on your homepage now

The profile design is worse than the original....

My suggestion - become a top bloger or a coach

Not all people are top bloggers or coaches.

And I can't send messages back.
