So like 0 /d15? I dunno.
Time control suggestion
You can't set that up on chess.com because it only offers increment, not delay. You can create a game that is G0:01+5 if you want (1 second time clock, 5 second increment), but that will let players build up a buffer in the opening.

Yeah, they know that it can't be set up like that right now. That's why they are offering it as a suggestion, so it can be implemented like that in the future.
Do you not understand how suggestions work?
I understand that chess.com has said they aren't going to add delay, so that the 0:01 + 5 is as close as you can set up now and for the foreseeable future.

We've talked about alot of ideas like this in the past and have never settled on anything. It would be good if we keep having the discussion.
Not delay or increment. I mean that you and your opponent must make a move in a certain number of seconds or else they lose. For example, you would have to make a move in 10 seconds to not lose, then your opponent would have to make his move in 10 seconds. If you don't move during that time, you lose.

Some servers used to call t his "0 1" aka no initial time except maybe fifteen seconds and then 1 sec Increment so even if you think you're "funny" in the opening, right around move 15 it catches up to right what you are describing because you missed your Queen was hanging and it took 11 seconds to notice so your "buffer" ran out, then the rest of the game is right what you are saying.

That's how delay works. You don't get time added, the timer just doesn't run for X seconds (say 10). So if you have 0 seconds on the clock to start (or 1 second, it really doesn't matter), but the clock doesn't start to run until 10 seconds have elapsed, that's exactly what you're asking for - you have to make a move in 10 seconds to not lose, then your opponent has to make a move in 10 seconds, and so on.

In a live chess game, can there be a time control where the players must make a move in a limited amount of time or else they lose? It seems like an epic, brutal variant of blitz or bullet; even when someone must think or examine a position, they can't. Reasons this time control will be good is that:
1. It's a very fun, much harder version of blitz and bullet. Even in blitz or bullet, you can think for an extended amount of time in difficult positions and play fast in other ones; in this time control, you can't even do that. It's very fun and crazy.
2. It stops people from letting their time run out in a lost position. In this time control, you don't have to wait for very long to win if they do that.
